AN ACT CONCERNING AUTOMATIC EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS IN HEALTH CLUBS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require all health clubs to maintain automatic external defibrillators and ensure that at least one trained employee is on-site during all staffed operating hours and to exempt such health clubs, their owners and employees from civil liability regarding the use or non-use of such defibrillators.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide for immediate on-premises availability in health clubs of life-saving equipment and trained personnel in the event of sudden cardiac arrest.
