AN ACT ESTABLISHING A DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCESS FOR COMPLAINTS OF UNIT OWNERS AGAINST CONDOMINIUM AND COMMON INTEREST OWNERSHIP ASSOCIATIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require each condominium association or common interest community association to establish a dispute resolution process and opportunity for hearing for unit owner complaints regarding the association's compliance with applicable provisions of law, and provide that any complaint not resolved after an opportunity for hearing and the conclusion of the dispute resolution process may be filed with the Office of the Attorney General where an employee shall be designated to handle such complaints, within available appropriations.

Statement of Purpose: 

To establish a dispute resolution process for complaints of unit owners against condominium and common interest ownership associations.
