21 | 21 | AN ACT CONCERNING COURT-ORDERED REMEDIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF A CUSTODY OR VISITATION ORDER. | |

23 | 23 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: | |

25 | 25 | That the general statutes be amended to provide that if a parent violates an order of the Superior Court issued pursuant to chapter 815j of the general statutes concerning custody or visitation of a minor child, upon motion of the parent who is aggrieved by such violation, the court may make any order reasonably necessary to address such violation in accordance with the rules of the Superior Court, which order may provide for, but need not be limited to, one or more of the following: (1) The granting of additional visitation time to the aggrieved parent, which may be a greater amount of visitation time than the actual visitation time missed by the aggrieved parent as a result of the violation by the other parent; (2) fees and costs incurred by the aggrieved parent in seeking to enforce such order; (3) civil fines; (4) modification of the custody or visitation order, in accordance with the best interests of the minor child, provided any such modification shall be entitled to an expedited hearing; and (5) reimbursement for child care costs incurred by a parent as a result of the violation of the order by the other parent. | |
