AN ACT CONCERNING THE UNAUTHORIZED PRACTICE OF LAW BY NOTARIES PUBLIC.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 51-88 of the general statutes be amended to provide that it shall be a felony for a notary public not admitted to the practice of law in this state to provide legal representation in immigration matters.
Statement of Purpose:
To penalize notaries public who are not attorneys for providing legal representation in immigration matters.
