27 | 27 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: | |

29 | 29 | That (1) section 17a-7a of the general statutes be amended to permit the Commissioner of Children and Families to waive the requirement for a new sixty-day evaluation of fitness and security risk after a child convicted as delinquent is transferred from one facility to another, and permit the commissioner to award a pass for a weekend of leave to a child who has exhibited good behavior, in order to facilitate the successful reentry of the child into the community or to a less restrictive facility, and (2) subsection (c) of section 17a-3 of the general statutes be amended to repeal the requirement that the Department of Children and Families keep children who are convicted as delinquent and will be committed to the Department of Children and Families and placed in the Connecticut Juvenile Training School in such facility for at least one year after their referral to the department. | |
