AN ACT CONCERNING THE SEARCH OF THE MEMORY OF A PERSONALLY-HELD ELECTRONIC DEVICE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require a warrant to search the memory of any personally-held electronic device except when there is an immediate risk to public safety. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To ensure that a warrant is required to search the memory of any personally-held electronic device except when there is an immediate risk to public safety.
