AN ACT AUTHORIZING BICYCLISTS TO CROSS THE HOUSATONIC RAILROAD AT GRADE IN NEW MILFORD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective from passage) Bicyclists shall be authorized to cross, via a bicycle path, the Housatonic Railroad at grade crossing located in Sega Meadows Park in New Milford, upon the acceptance of the following terms and conditions by the town of New Milford, by the affirmative vote of a majority of its legislative body: (1) The use of the crossing and the Housatonic Railroad shall be subject to the protections set forth in sections 52-557f to 52-557i, inclusive, of the general statutes; (2) the authorization for the crossing shall exclude motorized vehicles; (3) crossbucks shall be installed at the crossing prior to its use, by the town of New Milford, at its expense; and (4) the crossing shall be constructed and maintained by the town of New Milford, at its expense.
