2421 AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES TO CHANGE CERTAIN ADDRESSES ON FILE WITH THE DEPARTMENT.

2623 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

28-Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) If the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles receives notification from the United States Postal Service that a person who has an identity card issued under section 1-1h of the general statutes, or a motor vehicle operator's license or a certificate of registration for a motor vehicle, all-terrain vehicle, snowmobile or vessel issued under any section of the general statutes, has changed such person's address with the United States Postal Service, and the commissioner determines that such person has not notified the Department of Motor Vehicles in accordance with section 14-17a, 14-45 or 15-146 of the general statutes, the commissioner may send any mail related to such person's identity card, operator's license or certificate of registration to the address that is on file with the United States Postal Service and may change the address of such person in the department's records to the address of such person that is on file with the United States Postal Service.
