AN ACT REQUIRING IGNITION LOCKING DEVICES FOR PERSONS CONVICTED OF DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide that no person who has been convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol may operate any motor vehicle that is not equipped with an ignition locking device.
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce the rate of repeat DUI offenses by persons convicted of such offense.
