AN ACT CONCERNING THE SALE OF SCRAP METAL AND USED HOME BUILDING MATERIALS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require positive identification from individuals who are selling items to scrap metal dealers and other secondhand home building material dealers.
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent individuals from selling stolen materials taken from vacant properties such as copper piping, furnaces, bathroom fixtures and hot water heaters.
