AN ACT REQUIRING A VALID MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR'S LICENSE IN ORDER TO REGISTER A MOTOR VEHICLE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that a valid motor vehicle operator's license shall be the only acceptable form of identification for the purpose of registering a motor vehicle.

Statement of Purpose: 

To reduce the number of persons who flee police because they do not have a driver's license and to reduce the number of persons who drive illegally without a driver's license.
