AN ACT REDUCING THE ECONOMIC RECOVERY REVENUE BOND SURCHARGE FOR CERTAIN ELECTRIC CUSTOMERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That sections 16-245f of the general statutes be amended to cap the surcharge imposed by said section at an amount equal to the average amount of such charge on June 1, 2010, for electric distribution company customers who are not less than fifty-five years old and who heat their homes exclusively with electricity. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To cap the economic recovery revenue bond surcharge on electric bills for senior citizens who heat their homes exclusively with electricity.
