27 | 27 | That section 10-221 of the general statutes be amended to permit local and regional boards of education, within available budgetary resources, to establish literature review committees at the prekindergarten, elementary, middle and high school levels. Such committees shall be responsible for reviewing required reading material for excessive sexual content and making decisions regarding whether a particular book is appropriate for the age of the students who are assigned to read such book. | |
