2424 AN ACT REQUIRING A REPORT CONCERNING PROVISIONS FOR LAW SCHOOL GRADUATES.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Department of Higher Education shall study issues concerning (1) provisions available for law school graduates living in this state including, but not limited to, career counseling, career placement services and the continuation of education loan benefits, and (2) education loan modification or education loan forgiveness for law school graduates living in this state who are unable to secure an employment position in the legal field. Not later than January 1, 2012, the Commissioner of Higher Education shall report on such study to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to higher education and employment advancement in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes.
