2424 AN ACT CONCERNING THE PENALTY FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. Section 53a-192a of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2011):

3030 (a) A person is guilty of trafficking in persons when such person commits coercion as provided in section 53a-192 and the other person is compelled or induced to (1) engage in conduct that constitutes a violation of section 53a-82, or (2) provide labor or services.

3232 (b) Trafficking in persons is a class B felony and any person found guilty under this section shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of which two years of the sentence imposed may not be suspended or reduced by the court.
