AN ACT CONCERNING ELIGIBILITY FOR FULL BENEFITS IN THE TEACHERS' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subdivision (2) of subsection (a) of section 10-183f of the general statutes be amended to change the total years of credited service that a teacher must accumulate to receive normal retirement benefits from thirty-five years to thirty years.

Statement of Purpose: 

To allow a teacher to retire with normal retirement benefits at any age so long as such teacher accumulates thirty years of credited service.
