AN ACT CONCERNING HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS OF MEDICARE RECIPIENTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 368v of the general statutes be amended to provide that any hospital that is engaged in the care and treatment of a Medicare recipient shall be deemed to have admitted such recipient to the hospital in any situation where the care and treatment of the individual during an episode of care extends beyond a period of twenty-four hours. Statement of Purpose: To ensure that Medicare recipients receive proper medical care and treatment during the course of a hospital stay that exceeds twenty-four hours.
