AN ACT CONCERNING PUBLIC HEARINGS FOR INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to require the Insurance Department to hold a public hearing for insurance premium increase applications and to make the Attorney General and the Healthcare Advocate parties to such hearing.
Statement of Purpose:
To promote transparency in the Insurance Department's rate approval process.
