AN ACT CONCERNING THE PRIVATIZATION OF PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 17a of the general statutes be amended to transfer all responsibilities and services related to psychiatric care from the Department of Children and Families to private, community-based providers.
Statement of Purpose:
To realize cost reduction in the provision of psychiatric services and to achieve improved care by transferring the psychiatric service duties currently performed by the Department of Children and Families to community-based providers.
