AN ACT CONCERNING TERMINATION OF PARENTAL RIGHTS FOR PARENTS WITH CHILDREN IN DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES' CUSTODY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 319a of the general statutes be amended to extend the time that parents with children in the care or custody of the Department of Children and Families have to complete any remedial steps required by the department to prevent termination of parental rights.

Statement of Purpose: 

To provide parents with children in Department of Children and Families' custody more time to remedy problems that lead to termination of parental rights.
