2421 AN ACT CONCERNING VACATIONS FOR FOSTER CHILDREN.

2623 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

28-Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2011) (a) The Department of Children and Families shall respond to a foster family's written request to allow a foster child who is in the foster family's care to travel overnight and out-of-state with the foster family not later than fourteen days after such request is submitted. If the department fails to respond within fourteen days of the date on which the request is submitted, the travel request shall be deemed approved.

30-(b) The Commissioner of Children and Families shall adopt regulations, in accordance with chapter 54 of the general statutes, to implement the provisions of this section.
