AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF DEADLY FORCE TO DEFEND THE RESIDENTS OF A HOME.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 53a-20 of the general statutes be amended to provide that a person in his or her dwelling may use deadly force to protect the residents of that dwelling from an intruder.

Statement of Purpose: 

To fully enact the castle doctrine in this state.
