AN ACT REQUIRING THE DNA TESTING OF PERSONS ARRESTED FOR A SERIOUS FELONY OFFENSE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That sections 54-102g, 54-102h and 54-102l of the general statutes be amended to require a person arrested for a serious felony offense to submit to the taking of a DNA sample.

Statement of Purpose: 

To increase the ability of law enforcement agencies to identify perpetrators of serious crimes by requiring persons arrested for serious felony offenses to submit to the taking of a DNA sample.
