AN ACT PROVIDING MUNICIPAL AUTHORITY OVER THE SITING OF CELLULAR TOWERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 8 of the general statutes be amended to give local planning and zoning commissions the authority to approve the siting of cellular towers and, in the event a local planning and zoning commission denies the siting of a cellular tower, to allow the Connecticut Siting Council to override such denial and approve the requested siting by a supermajority vote.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide some local control over the siting of cellular towers.
