AN ACT CONCERNING CRANE AND HOISTING OPERATORS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 539 of the general statutes be amended to (1) require that anyone who applies for and receives a crane or hoisting operator's apprentice license be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program, (2) increase the penalty for anyone operating a crane or hoist without a license or without being enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program, and (3) permit the Department of Public Safety to remove any violator from the job site. Statement of Purpose: To require crane and hoisting operator's apprentices to be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program, and to impose additional penalties for violations of the crane or hoisting operator licensing provisions.
