AN ACT CONCERNING THE CALCULATION OF RETIREMENT INCOME UNDER THE STATE EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to calculate the base salary for a member of the state employees retirement system using the member's five highest-paid years of state service instead of three highest-paid years of such service.

Statement of Purpose: 

To require state employee pensions to be calculated based on an employee's five, rather than three, highest salaried years.
