AN ACT CHANGING THE DATE WHEN CHILDREN MAY REGISTER FOR KINDERGARTEN.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subsection (a) of section 10-15c of the general statutes be amended to change the date when a child is eligible to be registered for kindergarten from on or before January first of the school year to on or before October first of the school year.
Statement of Purpose:
To require that kindergarten children be five years old on or before October first of the year they enter school.
