AN ACT CONCERNING REAL PROPERTY TAX RELIEF FOR ELDERLY HOMEOWNERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Economic and Community Development to establish a revolving loan fund to provide loans to finance the amount of the real property tax relief benefit made available to elderly homeowners pursuant to section 12-170v of the general statutes until such time as the tax relief benefit is deemed due and payable.

Statement of Purpose: 

To eliminate the burden on municipalities to temporarily fund the tax relief benefit made available to elderly homeowners.
