23 | 23 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: | |

25 | 25 | That subsections (g) and (i) of section 14-227a of the general statutes be amended to provide that any person who is convicted of a first violation of subsection (a) of said section shall, as an alternative to a one-year license suspension, have such person's operator's license suspended for six months and be prohibited for the one-year period following completion of such period of suspension from operating a motor vehicle unless such motor vehicle is equipped with a functioning, approved ignition interlock device, as defined in section 14-227j of the general statutes. | |
