AN ACT CONCERNING THE HANDLING AND PROCESSING OF ABSENTEE BALLOTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit any individual who has solicited contributions on behalf of or contributed to a candidate in a particular state or municipal election, or circulated a petition on behalf of such a candidate, from participating in any absentee ballot procedure on behalf of the municipality in which the election is held.
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce the risk of malfeasance with regard to absentee ballots cast in state or municipal elections, and ensure that such ballots are handled and processed by impartial parties.
