AN ACT PROHIBITING ISSUANCE OF SAFETY INSPECTION STICKERS OR REGISTRATION PLATES FOR CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to prohibit the issuance of a safety inspection sticker or registration plate for any motorcycle on which the manufacturer's imprint on the tail pipe and on the motorcycle do not match, provided legal aftermarket pipes that do not exceed state decibel limits shall not disqualify such cycle from the issuance of such sticker or plate.

Statement of Purpose: 

To prevent the operation of motorcycles with illegally loud tail pipes.
