1224 AN ACT CONCERNING ELECTRONIC PRESCRIPTIONS.

1426 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

16-Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2011) Notwithstanding the provisions of subdivision (6) of subsection (j) of section 21a-254 of the general statutes, the Commissioner of Consumer Protection shall, not later than July 1, 2012, adopt regulations, in accordance with chapter 54 of the general statutes, concerning the transfer of electronic prescription information, including controlled substance prescription information, from prescribers to pharmacies. Such regulations shall comply with electronic prescription transmission regulations of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, 21 CFR 1300 et seq., as amended from time to time.
