AN ACT CONCERNING REPAYMENT OF STATE AID BY A BENEFICIARY WHOSE DEATH IS CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE STATE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That sections 17b-93 and 17b-94 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit the state from claiming proceeds from a cause of action brought by, or on behalf of, a beneficiary of state aid where the beneficiary's death was caused by the negligence of the state.
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit the state from making a claim for recoupment of state aid paid to a beneficiary whose death was caused by the negligence of the state.
