AN ACT FACILITATING DUAL ENROLLMENT OPPORTUNITIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2012) (a) For purposes of this section, "dual enrollment" means a program that enables a secondary school student to earn up to two year's worth of tuition-free college credit while still enrolled in secondary school.

(b) The Board of Regents for Higher Education shall identify and facilitate dual enrollment opportunities in secondary schools and public institutions of higher education for the purpose of aligning secondary and postsecondary courses of study for secondary school students participating in a curriculum focused on work-based instruction, including all major activities relating to the career cluster, as defined in section 10-20a of the general statutes.

 


This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
