AN ACT CONCERNING PERFORMANCE-BASED FINANCIAL AID.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2012) The Office of Financial and Academic Affairs for Higher Education shall make recommendations for the development of a plan for implementing performance-based financial aid programs which shall include periodic, rather than annual, disbursements of aid and require an assessment of a student's academic performance prior to disbursing aid to such student. Not later than January 1, 2013, the office shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, such recommendations to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to higher education.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
