AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY ON THE LABOR DEPARTMENT'S WAIVER OF WEEKLY PAY REQUIREMENT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Labor Department shall study issues concerning the waiver of the weekly pay requirement pursuant to section 31-71i of the general statutes and the results of a modification to such waiver that would require employees to be paid in full by an employer at least twice in each calendar month. Not later than January 1, 2013, the Labor Commissioner shall report on such study to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to labor in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes.

To require the Labor Department to study the effects of requiring employers to pay employees in full at least twice each calendar month.
