2424 AN ACT CONCERNING INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS TO SUPPORT BUSINESS.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) The Department of Economic and Community Development, in consultation with the Department of Transportation, shall conduct a study to investigate the possibility of entering into public-private partnerships to (1) construct a tunnel from a point to be determined in the southern part of the state to Long Island, and (2) construct an upper level on I-95 in Fairfield County that would include tolls. Such study shall include an examination of options, including, but not limited to, locations for the start and end of each project. On or before January 10, 2013, the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to commerce and transportation.
