2121 AN ACT CONCERNING THE CONTAINMENT OF CORRECTIONAL HEALTH CARE COSTS.

2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2525 That chapter 325 of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Correction to enter into a contract for a technology-based model designed to contain correctional health care costs. Such model shall include, but not be limited to, (1) audit and recovery systems to identify improper payment requests and recover funds related to such requests, (2) maximum utilization of Medicaid reimbursement by providers for eligible inpatient costs, and (3) contractor reimbursement and performance guarantees that ensure that the savings generated by implementation of the cost-containment model exceed costs.
