AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF PROVIDING WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS ON THE METRO NORTH COMMUTER RAILROAD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the Commissioner of Transportation shall, within available appropriations, conduct a study to evaluate the options available for providing wireless Internet access on Metro North commuter railroad trains, including, but not limited to, the option of providing such access through a public-private partnership. Not later than February 1, 2014, the commissioner shall submit a report of the commissioner's findings and recommendations, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to transportation.
Statement of Purpose:
To study the provision of wireless Internet on commuter railroad trains.
