AN ACT CONCERNING CABLE TELEVISION EQUIPMENT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 16 of the general statutes be amended to (1) require a community antenna television company, holder of a certificate of cable franchise authority and holder of a certificate of video franchise authority to make available for purchase to any customer of such company or holder any equipment necessary to utilize the community antenna television or video service, and (2) prohibit such company or holder from refusing to provide such service to any customer who uses equipment provided by a third party to utilize such service.
Statement of Purpose:
To require that each community antenna television company, holder of a certificate of cable franchise authority and holder of a certificate of video franchise authority provide an option for customers to buy any equipment for which such company or holder currently charges a monthly fee, and to require such company or holder to provide community antenna television or video service to any customer who uses equipment provided by a third party.
