AN ACT INCREASING THE PENALTY FOR OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR OR DRUGS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide that, upon conviction of a person for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, the motor vehicle used during the offense be seized, forfeited and sold at auction and the proceeds remitted to the municipality in which the offense occurred.
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the penalty for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs by permitting the seizure and forfeiture of a motor vehicle used to commit such offense and remitting the proceeds to the municipality in which the offense occurred.
