2121 AN ACT REQUIRING THE LEGISLATIVE PROGRAM REVIEW AND INVESTIGATIONS COMMITTEE TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF A STATE-WIDE POLICY FOR SCHOOL SECURITY STANDARDS.

2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2525 That the General Assembly direct the Legislative Program Review and Investigations Committee to study the feasibility of a state-wide policy for school security standards. Such study shall include, but not be limited to, (1) the cost of installing vehicle barriers, bullet proof and intrusion resistant vestibules at primary building entrances and electronic monitoring devices, and (2) an examination of a requirement that all persons entering a school building verify their identity and explain their purpose for being at the school.
