AN ACT CONCERNING HOUSEHOLD ACCESS TO FIREARMS BY A PERSON WHO POSES A RISK OF IMMINENT PERSONAL INJURY TO HIMSELF OR OTHERS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That subdivision (2) of subsection (a) of section 29-38c of the general statutes be amended to permit the police or state's attorney to file a complaint with the superior court with respect to a person who poses a risk of imminent personal injury to himself or herself or to other individuals when such person is a member of a household with a person who possesses a firearm. Statement of Purpose: To enhance public safety by expanding the current mechanism for permitting formal complaints regarding a person who poses a risk of imminent harm and possesses a firearm to allow formal complaints regarding any such person who has access to a firearm within such person's household.
