AN ACT CONCERNING COMMUNITY SERVICE REQUIREMENTS FOR MINORS IN POSSESSION OF CIGARETTES OR TOBACCO PRODUCTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 12-295a of the general statutes be amended to impose a twenty hour community service requirement in an area related to public health in lieu of the imposition of a fine for any minor caught possessing cigarettes or tobacco products.
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce smoking among children and youth.
