CANDELORA, 86th Dist. REP. KLARIDES, 114th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION AND MINIMUM WEEKLY BENEFIT LEVELS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require an individual seeking unemployment benefits to have worked during the base period a number of weeks sufficient to qualify for a minimum weekly benefit of fifty dollars in order to be eligible for unemployment and to increase the minimum weekly benefit level to fifty dollars. Statement of Purpose: To establish parity between the minimum amount of unemployment compensation a claimant may receive and the number of weeks a claimant must work to qualify for such compensation.
