AN ACT CONCERNING THE RENTING OR LEASING OF PASSENGER MOTOR VEHICLES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide that no person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of renting or leasing passenger motor vehicles without drivers shall require a secondary driver to provide a credit card number to such person, firm or corporation as a condition to the rental of a passenger motor vehicle if the primary driver has provided proof that such motor vehicle will have sufficient insurance coverage.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide that no person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of renting or leasing passenger motor vehicles without drivers shall require a secondary driver to provide a credit card number to such person, firm or corporation as a condition to the rental of a passenger motor vehicle if the primary driver has provided proof that such motor vehicle will have sufficient insurance coverage.
