AN ACT CONCERNING TERMINATION OF UTILITY SERVICE BY A MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITY FOR NONPAYMENT IN A LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 16-262c of the general statutes be amended to clarify what constitutes a life-threatening situation for a customer of a municipal electric utility when determining whether to terminate such customer's utility service for nonpayment.
Statement of Purpose:
To clarify what situations qualify as life-threatening for a customer of a municipal electric utility.
