AN ACT REQUIRING THE REGULATION OF RUNNING BAMBOO. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require retail sellers of running bamboo to provide consumers with educational material on the growth habit and proper means of containment for such plant and to require property owners to install proper containment for such plants when such planting is within one hundred feet of an abutting property or public right-of-way and to establish a penalty of twenty-five dollars per day for property owners who fail to prevent the spread of such bamboo onto neighboring properties. Statement of Purpose: To prevent running bamboo from invading neighboring properties.
