AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TAX ON CERTAIN BEVERAGES AND FOODS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to institute a tax on sugary beverages and junk food, and to direct the proceeds of such tax to municipal health and nutrition programs.
Statement of Purpose:
To encourage healthy eating, improve health outcomes and enhance funding to local health and nutrition programs.
