AN ACT REQUIRING CERTIFICATION BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH FOR CERTAIN EXPERT WITNESSES IN MEDICAL MALPRACTICE CASES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 20 of the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Public Health to issue a certificate, for a fee of one hundred fifty dollars, to health care providers who provide expert testimony in medical malpractice actions pursuant to section 52-184c of the general statutes. Statement of Purpose: To require expert witnesses in medical malpractice cases to be certified by the Department of Public Health.
